so as you are warned now...
what is so different in my AU?
well basically after Asriels death everything went down. Asgore didnt react as soft as we know him from the canon~
to give you a better view on things i will put each main characters role in the AU which
was so nice to write them out so nicely Q u Q and also the character designes i already have!! this information may change a little during my process of the comic? i dunno~
Asgore
Redesign pixel asgore
Asgore, in this AU, is the main villain, trying to kill all the humans that dare to set foot into the underground. You see, ever since when Asriel died, something s n a p p e d within him, which was when the darkness soaked into his soul. He started to go onto a royalty craze, enslaving all the people within the underground to do his bidding, and all his jobs. Many monsters told him that this was wrong, but he refused to look at the truth head on. To prevent a possible revolution and keep his current power as a king however, he did something horrible. Something which has been kept as a secret underneath the ancient for a long time. Asgore used dark magic to summon an evil that gave him power, the power to control any of the monsters underground, all but Toriel, which is because his love for Toriel is so strong. However said power came with a price, one that could never be replaced anymore... Asgore had to give his SOUL.
Toriel (pacifist)
Toriel, in this AU, isn't characteristic too different than in the original yet she has some differences such as being more critical when it comes to meeting new people.
Keeping care of all the humans that fall into the underground, she is not going to let you down.
After the tragedy that happened to Asgore and failing to prevent it, she was forced to flee from the throne, coming across the Ruins, where she settled in as her home. Toriel then created a barrier around the Ruins to keep out anything to harm her or a human, especially the darkness spreading its roots everywhere. After that, she made a vow to protect any human that fell down into this living hell, and make sure he/she didn't go past that double door and into the mayhem of darkness. Though should she find out that you're intentions aren't so... 'nice' she won't hesitate to stop you.
Papyrus (pacifist)

Papyrus, in this AU, is the most innocent character throughout the whole AU, not knowing a speck of backstory, and just wanting to cook up some spaghetti. He really dislikes seeing all of his friends in peril, and really just wants the world at peace. Also in this AU Paps does NOT want to join the royal guard. When he sees a human approach him, he completely flips out and makes sure you aren’t hurt. He then tries to cook you some spaghetti, and maybe read a story or two together; poor Papyrus doesn’t know that the human needs to move on and can’t stay there forever. Whenever there isn’t a human around, he always tries to protect Sans with his brotherly love, which does help him emotionally. Papyrus is also befriended with Undyne who usually ends up at his place for business with Sans. He's the emotional pillar for both, his brother and Undyne whereas he always tries to keep them happy. However its not easy to permanently keep such a 'happy' gesture... especially with all the darkness surrounding him and when no one's watching... a tear or two might fall.

Sans, in this AU, is trying his ever so best to keep Papyrus as innocent as he is. He does everything; he joined the royal guard (instead of papyrus), takes a cruel mission from Asgore, murdering monsters from another timeline and world, just to make sure that Papyrus doesn’t understand and sees the truth of what’s going on, just so, he could protect his brother from the kings wrath.
Being in the Royal guard however, isn't always so easy and he often ends up badly wounded. Due to his high accomplishment rate in his missions however, Sans gained quite the rank in the royal guard and has become "the second general of the demon army" with Undyne being the first. Sans in his fighting style is a very fast and strong close combat fighter. He fights with fist and bones, and is hardly to hit, with his unpredictable random attacks he could easily rise from the bottom all the way up. Though on the other hand, being an 1HP monster makes every hit he gains critical (which is how he ends up being badly hurt in the first place--)
Undyne
Undyne the Undying

Undyne, in this AU, is the general of the demon army "the royal guard dog" within the depths of hell, with Alphys as her trusty assistant. This happened by just one, little mistake. One, wrong, m o v e . Swipe at the king just to prove yourself worthy. Just wanting to be the true heroine of the underground, but instead just thrown in the dust, bruised, bent, and broken. Never ask for how she lost her eye; never ask on how she’s got sharp as hell teeth, and for the love of god; don’t ask why her hair’s red as the flames as hell.
Undyne is befriended with Papyrus and Sans doe her relationship with Sans is better due to being all day at work with him. However she knows why Sans is in the Royal Guard and knowing that she often covers up for him if she is able to. Undyne is a very calm and rather shy person who loves to sing so she's often nicknamed as "Siran" due to these personality traits. And what seems to be a pleasant ability, singing is Undynes most powerful attack. As a demon she possesses "the demon's voice" which only a few can master (such as Shyren for example). Depending what you sing and how you sing the effects are very different but all in all, nothing's going to end well.

Alphys, in this AU, is one of the most stressful characters, having the fate of the world upon her very claws. She has to do some horrendous experiments upon innocent little monsters for her to make weapons to fight against Asgore. She also is the one to punish those who opposed any of the kings orders. This had already killed some of her non-canon friends, which had left herself with a hole in her heart. She’s also working on a side, secret project about turning demons back into monsters, which would work for Asgore and Undyne. She must keep this a secret, cause if she dares to spill the secret...
Mettaton
Mettaton EX
Mettaton, in this AU, used to be a humble creation by Alphys, just to fend off the basic enemies, and the evils that come across him. Born with the passion of wanting to be a actor, he ever so dearly wanted to escape the clutches of Alphys’s lab, but knew she would get deadly consequences. So, one day when Alphys wasn’t home, he snuck out into the dark world outside. After a while, he returned and brought a new will; the will to sweep away the darkness with his stunning star legs (and to improve his rather bad acting). However with his personlity being a bit laid back and shy this might be harder than it seems... adding the fact that no one was really interested in entertainment (mostly because it wasn't allowed) he is going to have a hard time indeed.

Flowey
Flowey, in this AU, is Asgore’s top slave for work. Since that Asgore hasn’t relised that he’s Asriel, he treats Flowey like a slave, forcing him to snatch children, like a personaly spy, so he doesn’t cripple within his paws. Flowey is also responsible to watch over the royal guardsmen and generally tells everything to the king that could turn into some kind of revolution or is just generally very important.
Frisk
Frisk, in this AU, is the one who will determine the fate of everyone. They're a determined child, heavenly and sweet. If chosen the pacifist run however, Frisk will help all the monsters escape the living hell, and will try not to stumble and fall. As her wings grow longer and stronger, she must run faster and faster, to help them escape before she can’t. Before the wings grow t o o l o n g . . .
Frisk doesn't quite remember anything of their past which often makes her question why she was here... but with every friend they gain... they will remember.
Chara
Chara, the “Demon who Comes if People Call it’s Name”. Chara is the one true demon of the underground, even greater and more deadly than Asgore...
They're that "evil" which corrupted the poor king and everyone in the underground. They were the one Asgore had summoned and made a deal with. That deal gave Asgore power and Chara gained a new monster SOUL.
When going through a genocide run, Chara welcomes herself in, and never leaves. You unleash the lion, it never goes back. You be a bitch, you can never r e t u r n .

Asriel
Asriel Demon of Hyperdeath
Asriel in this AU is the kings son who died a long time ago. As an only child without much of a social life (besides his family) he often feels very lonely. To entertain himself if his parents are busy he often wanders around in the underground and of course finds out about just how bad the situation is seeing the monsters want to be free and suffer from the reality that the barrier might never be destroyed at all. Feeling pity and guilt for not being able to do much in his current state, Asriel decides to do something. He finds an ancient artefact, a locket in the shape of a heart which contains a message telling him how to summon Chara. Chara tells him that they can give him the power to free all monsters he just needed to make a contract. Asriel, as naive as he was, trusted the demon and agreed. He wasnt disappointed as he gained immense power (dark magic to be precise) with said power he could go through the barrier and take 7 human souls to break the barrier and fulfill the contract with chara. However asriel couldn't manage to kill even one human due to his kind personality and ends up being badly hurt by the humans. With his last strength, he went back and collapsed on the bed of golden flowers his soul now forever with chara and the chain on his neck in their controll.

The Watching Raven
The Watching Raven or WR is the alternate version of the annoying dog.
this little fella is going to stalk you through your adventure, they're feared in the underground as it is seen as a bad omen due to many mysterious deaths by this ravens presence. (or at least it means if you see them you know something serious is going to happen...)
Muffet
Muffet in this universe is known for sellings souls her spiders gathered to other demons and in a way buys her way to comfort. She's a sort of rival to the royal guard members (especially sans and undyne) since selling souls is illegal. However no matter how hard they try, they don't seem to have been able so far to best the spider woman yet.
Temmie
The Temmies in this universe are animalic demons who are very feared from the others as they are a rather aggressive kind of demon. If provoked they will act on instinct, meaning they will attack you without hesitation and can only be tamed by giving them Temmieflakes which you actually still can buy in the tem shop (the temmie's in the villsge are still rather sane) Nevertheless, even if they appear very intimidating they ARE temmies in the end and talk/act in a pretty similar manner to the original.
Monster Kid
Monster Kid in this AU is one of the few remaining children which hasn't been affected too much by the darkness, they believe that one day a hero will come and free them all from the slavery. however this attitude costed them their arms as they refused to obey an order they were given. gladly the king didnt intend to kill MK so he sent alphys to patch him up again. Nevertheless MK still is convinced that one day they'll all be freed.

The chains and their colors:
Many people had asked me about, what's with the colors of the chains of each monster? Well, it's simple, the colors are based on a monster magic. In the game, when we encounter a bossfight, the color of your SOUL changes during the battle. Like in the fight against Papyrus it turns blue, Undyne will turn it green, Muffet will turn it purple etc. So these chains basically symbolize a monster magic and thats why the colors are always different depending on the monster.
Other facts about the chains:
-The chains are made of dark magic.
-They have an infinite length (they just turn invisible at one point).
-They all lead to the same person holding the key, King Asgore.
-Asgore is able to control each monster with the chains, just like a puppet.
-The chains are unbreakable, unless a monster gains enough Hope or Determination to break it. This can be achived in the pacifist route where you help each monster with their problems and break them free.
